Becoming: Not Who You Were — But Who You Are Becoming
Growth is rarely loud. Often, it happens quietly—through conversations, reflections, and moments of guidance that shape who we are becoming. The Second Mentors–Meet–Mentees gathering centered on the theme “Becoming”, with the powerful reminder that life is not defined by who we once were, but by who we are continuously becoming.
A Space to Begin Again
The event began with registration, setting a welcoming tone as mentors and mentees reconnected—not just as participants, but as partners in growth. This was followed by a prayer and the Philippine National Anthem, grounding the gathering in gratitude, purpose, and shared identity.
Reflection Before Action
A short inspirational video invited everyone to pause and reflect. It reminded us that growth is a process—sometimes slow, sometimes challenging—but always meaningful. The message was clear: becoming requires intention, patience, and courage.
Learning Through Experience
An interactive game brought energy and honesty into the room. Through light but meaningful activities, participants were encouraged to recognize how much they have changed and how much potential still lies ahead. Laughter and reflection went hand in hand, reinforcing that growth can be both joyful and profound.
An intermission number followed, offering a creative expression of passion and progress—proof that becoming can be seen, heard, and felt.
Where Mentoring Truly Begins
The heart of the event was the Mentoring Proper.
Here, conversations moved beyond achievements and expectations. Mentors listened. Mentees shared. Stories, challenges, and aspirations were exchanged in an atmosphere of trust and openness.
Mentoring, after all, is not about having all the answers—it is about walking with someone as they discover their own.
Moving Forward
The Second Mentors–Meet–Mentees was not an ending, but a continuation. A reminder that growth does not happen alone, and becoming is a journey best walked with guidance, empathy, and community.
As everyone left the venue, one truth remained clear:
We are not defined by who we were yesterday.
We are shaped by the choices we make today—
and inspired by who we are becoming.
